ABOUT OUR CHINA
I have inherited my love of British antique china from my grandfather who was a respected porcelain collector. I am greatly inspired by the mastery of science, engineering and technical wizardry close to alchemy that saw the explosion of the British porcelain industry in 17th Century. It is possible to say that since this time few objects as small as these fine china pieces have lent themselves to such a variety of shape and decoration and been the subject of so much lavish attention and creative ingenuity.
It is my hope that all of my fine china gifts can not only be used everyday but also displayed as a decorative antique or vintage collectable in their own right.
Condition and Care
I thoroughly check every piece of china, I am very stringent about this and only select china in excellent condition despite its age. No piece will ever be chipped or cracked, however as many items are antique they may display slight imperfections associated with the manufacturing process of the time.
As much of the china is hand painted and has delicate gilding it is not suitable for modern dishwashers. I would recommend that it is best washed by hand in warm soapy water with a non abrasive cloth.
Timeless British Classics
I carefully hand select all the china myself and each piece is an original one off antique or vintage item with the majority being over 100 years old. Every piece is chosen for its age, design and quality of craftsmanship.
Provenance is also of the utmost importance and I like to source from the prominent British Victorian & Edwardian porcelain factories such as Worcester, Wedgwood and Minton.
The present from the past
These luxuriously packaged china gifts make a unique and versatile present suitable for a variety of occasions such as birthdays, weddings and christenings. The Soap Dishes for example make a lovely hostess present - a refreshing change from wine and chocolates!
I continually update and refresh the china on my website so it is worth checking frequently for new designs and products.
